Junior Group Tennis Lessons
All classes follow the Junior FUNdamental Pathway, a fun and engaging way for players of all ages to learn tennis. This system uses the play-and-stay format, which allows players to learn quickly while having a blast.
[Note: Blue Chip Tennis requires all classes have at least 3 players registered.]8 and Under (Ages 5-8)
We offer these weekly lessons for kids who want to have fun playing while learning the fundamentals of the game. Designed to bring kids into the game by using specialized equipment, a shorter court, and tailored to age and size.

10 and Under (Ages 9-10)
These lessons help children refine their technique on a 60’ court, using match play.

Performance Level (Ages 11-16)
Students will work on age-appropriate techniques and will learn point play. Class are on a 78’ court and include match play.

Our Tennis Pros
Ivan Pizarro holds a professional-level certification in Junior and Adult Development with USPTR, a high-performance certification from Bolletieri IMG Tennis Academy. He has been coaching for 17 years in total and 13 specifically in Northern Virginia. Prior to professional coaching, Ivan played NCAA Div. II tennis at Salem International University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in international business. Coach Ivan believes in positive reinforcement and coaching to get the best out of his students!
Hailey Westerlund is an alumna of the Blue Chip Tennis program and is returning for her second year as a tennis instructor! Currently enrolled at Virginia Tech (go Hokies!), Hailey is studying biology as a pre-med student. When she’s not playing tennis with surgical precision, she enjoys reading, painting and working out. Hailey is super excited to work with all the tennis students this summer and crushing it on the court!
