WHY DOES SWIM TEAM FAMILY NEED TO FULFILL 10 VOLUNTEER TASKS DURING THE SEASON?

Quite simply, we couldn't host a swim meet without the support of parent volunteers.  It takes 50 volunteers to run a swim meet, and the NVSL requires each team to provide volunteers for both Home and Away meets. Descriptions of each volunteer position are available under the Volunteer Information Section of the website. The number of volunteer shifts is the same regardless of how many swimmers you have on the team.   By volunteering, you not only support the team, but you also have the opportunity to learn more about the sport, get to know the other swimmers and their parents, and provided an excellent view of the pool to see your swimmer in action.

Beginning May 1, once you have created an account with Swimtopia and registered your swimmers for the team (or Mini-Fins), you can sign up for your volunteer shifts by clicking on the Meet/Events tab. Swim Team families are required to complete 10 volunteer events, Mini-Fin families three.  We ask each family to provide a volunteer deposit check which will be returned upon completion of all volunteer shifts at the end of the season. Further questions about volunteering may be directed to our Volunteer Coordinator Angie Gallagher at fmwvolunteers@gmail.com.
